Overview:
The Technology Design and Technical Education Department at USU Blanding campus seeks a proactive, well-organized, and service-driven individual to join our dynamic team of faculty and staff dedicated to delivering comprehensive technical education programs.
These programs encompass Trucking/Commercial Driver License, Heavy Equipment, Building Construction, Engineering Drafting and Design, and Welding.
This part-time, hourly position primarily focuses on marketing programs and student recruitment, alongside a range of administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will handle call management, greet visitors, address email inquiries, and provide guidance on the listed technical education programs.
Additionally, they will execute administrative tasks supporting community engagement, social initiatives, instructional endeavors, and research programs.
This involves coordination of people, events, or facilities.
Moreover, the selected candidate will actively contribute to program marketing, engage in activities promoting student enrollment, resource management, and aid in student retention efforts.
The role may encompass additional assigned duties as needed.
Responsibilities: Offers comprehensive support to administrators, faculty, academic, and research staff.
Manages office operations, encompassing scheduling, filing, paperwork preparation, supply procurement, and inventory management.
Represents the department/program positively when engaging with students, staff, faculty, and the wider community.
Identifies and implements strategies to enhance service efficiency while developing streamlined procedures.
Maintains and generates website content.
Creates, edits, and coordinates the production of promotional materials, educational content, training manuals, newsletters, and brochures.
Advises students, customers, or the general public about program-specific regulations, requirements, and services.
Orchestrates program/department activities, including conferences and events.
Engages in student recruitment and oversees the application review process.
Provides guidance and training to student and part-time employees.
Delivers training, instruction, and consultations to students, faculty, and staff on specialized services.
Acts as a liaison between administration, faculty, program-involved students, and community mentors.
Assists in program compliance activities.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience or an associate degree/technical training is required.
Valid Utah driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials Preferred: Experience in record-keeping.
Experience in charts or graphs.
Experience planning, promoting, and organizing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in field-specific knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in the recruitment notice.
Capable of making informed and timely decisions for routine tasks.
Adept in employing creative problem-solving strategies.
Proficient in operating basic office equipment such as printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
Skilled in coordinating and organizing meetings as well as special events.
Proficient in maintaining accurate records.
Familiarity with ordering supplies, managing equipment, and controlling inventory.
Proficient in database management.
Possesses foundational computer skills.
Proficient in creating, composing, and editing written materials.
Knowledgeable about communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
Capable of handling sensitive and confidential business data and personal information with discretion.
Familiarity with University policies and procedures.
Demonstrates initiative and can work independently without constant supervision.
