Hello unknown friend:
I am retired, 77-year-old, male, single, in relatively good health and active.
Thanks to COVID my lungs have been damaged.
I now live in Colorado at an elevation of 4800 feet.
I have discovered that sleeping and living at a lower elevation is much easier.
Of note.
It is stable and not degenerative.
I have set out on a quest to find a place to move to with clean air and lower altitude.
I am not a big city person but if that is my only choice.
So be it.
Yuma or that 30 mile stretch of highway.
Seems to be coming into focus.
Yes, I am aware of the summer heat.
At this point my greatest concern is health care.
I know I said I am in good health.
But, isn’t there always a but?
I had a kidney transplant it 2005 and am fully recovered.
But you never fully recover from a major organ transplant.
I must take immune suppressants.
Getting those in a small town may take work.
I am confident it can be done.
I also must visit a (kidney doctor) nephrologist three to four times a year.
Also, thanks to being a red head.
Now bald and gray.
Who wandered the woods and fields as a young man, now taking immune suppressant.
I need to visit a (skin cancer doctor) MOHS surgeon the same three to four times a year.
A nuisance but not serious.
Is anybody else dealing with similar issues.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Al
